A misbehaving child is often a child who
is unhappy for one reason or another.
Staff objectives when dealing with
unwanted behaviour are to comfort the child or children
involved and to attempt to discover the reason for the
behaviour and to deal with any difficulties that the
child may be experiencing.
Children will at no time be physically
punished, whatever the perceived seriousness of the
behaviour. Children will at no time have their
self-esteem or self-confidence undermined as a
punishment for unwanted behaviour.
The nursery staff work towards building
the self-esteem and self-confidence of every child,
treating them as individuals with independence of
thought. This will be achieved through generous helpings
of deserved praise for effort as well as achievement and
allowing them to express themselves in a safe,
comfortable environment.
We encourage the children to show
respect at all times for the feelings and well being of
other children and staff.
The children can expect staff to respect
their feelings and treat them with sympathy and
understanding in all circumstances. |
